Amogelang Maepa
Final weeks to experience One-night stands in white mustangs
There is still time to experience Amogelang Maepa’s debut solo exhibition, One-night stands in white mustangs, at 223 Jan Smuts Ave, Johannesburg before it closes on 27 July.
Working between poetry and ceramic form, Maepa explores desire not as an event, but as a system: repeating, circulating, and leaving residue. The exhibition moves through the aftermath of intimacy, where forms hold what cannot be resolved: longing, exposure, and the persistence of feeling.
Described by Unathi Kondile in the Mail & Guardian as “a sensual, emotionally charged exploration of fleeting desire and lasting residue,” the exhibition offers Johannesburg audiences a final opportunity to encounter this compelling body of work.
