Amogelang Maepa
One-night stands in white mustangs
The debut solo exhibition by Amogelang Maepa opens in Johannesburg following its Cape Town showing.
To mark the opening on 4 June, Maepa will perform a live poetry reading within the exhibition from 18:30 & 19:30.
In ONE-NIGHT STANDS IN WHITE MUSTANGS, Maepa works between poetry and ceramic form to explore desire not as an event, but as a system – repeating, circulating, and leaving residue. The exhibition moves through the aftermath of intimacy, where forms hold what cannot be resolved: longing, exposure, and the persistence of feeling.
“A sensual, emotionally charged exploration of fleeting desire and lasting residue.”
