Berman Contemporary, the second gallery to be established by art curator, Candice Berman, recently opened its doors at 11 Alice Lane, the heart of the Sandton precinct. The work of French artist, Elsa Duault filled the walls of Berman Contemporary with splashes of colour in a solo exhibition that showcased the burgeoning talent of this young creative.
Molecular painting is how Duault describes her signature technique. Her circular canvases swirl with colour and character, juxtaposing dynamic movement with notions of restraint. Each piece captures a moment in time, filled with a sense of infinite energy, contained within a circular form.
Guests at this explorative exhibition enjoyed premium bubbly and wine, artistically plated cuisine prepared by chef Wandile Mabaso. Augmented reality app, Artivive was used by guests to bring Duault’s art to life with virtual demos of how the pieces were created, what inspired them and the craftsmanship behind the creation of each work.
Berman Contemporary provides art aficionados with a glimpse into the exhibition by means of a virtual showroom. Take the tour here.
